    The museum's newest exhibition, "Thos. Moser: Legacy in Wood" will be open through January 13, 2018. "Thos. Moser: Legacy in Wood" is a traveling exhibition organized by the Maine College of Art and illustrates the artistic vision of Tom Moser, Maine's legendary furniture maker. The book, "Thos. Moser: Legacy in Wood" is for sale in the Museum Store.

  • "Over There and Down Home: Mainers and World War I"

    The museum's newest exhibition, "Over There and Down Home: Mainers and World War I" highlights Maine industries, communities, and individuals that supported the Allied Forces during the Great War. Through photographs and objects, the exhibition also tells stories of the Yankee Division, as well as specific Mainers, such as Leroy Hoskins of Milo, Franklyn Burbank of Livermore Falls, Edwina Mower of St. Albans, and many others who worked to support the war at home and abroad.

  • Free Screening of New Documentary "Americans Underground: Secret City of World War I" on Wednesday, November 15 at 5:30 p.m.

    Join the Maine State Museum, Library, and Archives for a free screening of the new Smithsonian Channel documentary about American troops who billeted in underground quarries during World War I. The screening will be held in the State Museum and State Library (Cultural Building) in Augusta.**
